Konark is one of the most ancient places in Orissa where stone carving is the ancient practice of sculpting stone into art and utilitarian objects.
Subjects are often traditional images, including mythological figures. Sculptures are elaborately carved all over.
The present-day stone carving products range from sculptures, vases, interior decorations to large monuments.

  • – The most important feature of Konark stone carving is the raw material. Soft stone, red sandstone, and granite are used for carving.
  • – Konark specializes in icons and figures carved in different dance poses.
