Blue Pottery is widely recognized as a traditional craft of Jaipur, though it is Turko-Persian in origin. The adherence to hand painting has lent a high level of delicacy to this art and has contributed to the designs looking fresh and full of life.

About Jaipur Blue Pottery:
Blue Pottery of Jaipur and its surrounding villages is unique in that primarily it is a ceramic body made of quartz.The pottery is completely handcrafted and hand-painted by skilled artisans of Jaipur, Rajasthan.The quartz composition of the ceramic is well-suited to the hot and dry climate of the area.Since it does not crack much and is impervious, it is found very suitable and hygienic for daily use.The entire item is covered with decorative motifs and filled entirely with colors.The surface shines but the shine is less glossy.
Jaipur Blue Pottery has been Conferred with the Geographical Indication (GI) status by the Government of India in 2008 with GI Number 74.
Handling Instructions:
Clean the surface regularly with soft dry cloth. In case dust has accumulated over the surface, gently rub some ordinary oil with a soft cloth to restore the shine on the surface.
