Woven only in pit loom with pure cotton yarns thus enabling tight weaving which attributes to the sheen in the material is unique to Mangalagiri cotton fabrics and sarees having an origin for over 500 years.

Zari is used only for the border.
Zari is superimposed on the border unlike where zari itself is woven as border.
