Udupi, a serene coastal district in south Karnataka is known for its traditional handwoven combed cotton sarees of 60’s and 80’s counts. The saree weaving at Udupi dates back to 1844  and is known for its Lightweight, Durability,  Art silk design on border, Butis adorning the pallu and most importantly for its ability to withstand coastal heat.
