GiTAGGED® Kutch Rogan Art (16×20) Inches

Traditionally associated with Afridi tribe of Pathans, the Kutch Rogan art is a 400 Year old technique of Painting Fabric. The Artist does not use any prior sketched pattern but the design is imprinted in his mind. He applies Rogan onto the metal stylus and twists the stylus  in desired direction to apply Rogan without the stylus touching the fabric.

 
Raw Materials

Canvas : Fabric.
Colours : Natural mixed with Castor Oil.
Stylus : 6 Inch metal Stylus.

Preparation of Rogan :
Castor Oil is boiled for more than 12 hours periodically & is mixed with cold water until it thickens into a sticky golden-brown substance called Rogan. Rogan is finally mixed with Rich, Bright, Natural colours & is held onto the Palm and is twisted across the Cloth using Kalam to obtain desired Motifs.

Uniqueness
The beauty of the art lies in the fact that the entire process of sticky paint is carefully twisted into adorning motifs by using a just a metal stylus. The Precision of Hand, the flow of design that is imprinted in Mind of the artist is the most mesmerizing aspect of Rogan art.

The Kutch Rogan Art Painting comes with Acrylic Sheet and not Glass, this adds premiumness to the painting and also enhances its beauty and Durability. The Rogan Art is done by members of Khatri Family who have been practicing the art form for  the last Eight generations.
