The Beginning of this fabric is mired into misery, a few believe that Doria sarees were originally woven in Mysore and from there few weaver families were brought to Kota due to patronizing efforts of then Kota Prince Shri Rao Kishore Singh (1684-1695).

Kota Doria Handloom Fabric has been Conferred with the Geographical Indication (GI) Status by Government of India in 2005 with the GI Number 8.
Note: Gi Tagged Status to Kota Doria is given only to handloom which is quite expensive with a starting Price Range of 10k. On customers demand we are selling Kota Doria Saree which is made on power loom and is not given Gi Tagged Status.
