Ganjifa Cards of Mysore Origin: It is said that Mughals brought the game to India, in the 16th Century and was quite popular in the court of Akbar. The cards were circular or square in shape and was initially made of Ivory, Tortoise shell, Wood, Silver, Palm leaf and Paper. Hinduisation & Revival of Ganjifa Shri Krinshnaraja Wadiyar III (1794-1868), an expert Ganjifa player himself, revived the game, as God's play and wrote several Books.
