Started at 1855 at Mysore, the Agarbathis exhibited in Wembley exhibition, London won a certificate of merit and is commonly known as The Fragrant Ambassador of India. The inhalation of volatilized natural constituents produces a stimulating effect, religiously devotional emotions and a pleasant aroma for a peaceful ambiance.
Raw Materials
The manufacturing of Mysore Agarbathi largely depends on Forest based raw materials like bamboo stick, sandalwood, white chip, gum and charcoal. The main reason for flourishing of the industry was due to the use of Mysore sandalwood which is acknowledged as the best sandalwood in the world.
