Pichwai is a spectacular, 400-year-old art form that originated in the sacred temple town of Nathdwara, Rajasthan.

Historical Usage The word Pichwai means "hanging at the back. " Crafted by hereditary artisans, these large, intricate textile paintings served as devotional backdrops for the deity Shrinathji, a manifestation of a seven-year-old Lord Krishna, residing within the temple's inner sanctum.
